Amy Gilliland is president of General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), an $8.5billion global technology enterprise with operations in 30 countries worldwide. She leads 28,000 technologists and service professionals delivering consulting, technology, and mission services to every major agency across the U.S. government and the defense, civilian and intelligence communities.
Under Gilliland’s leadership, GDIT has embarked on a growth strategy focused on in-demand technology market areas such as artificial intelligence/machine learning, cloud and cybersecurity, while building a diverse network of partners and delivering innovative solutions.
Gilliland balances the demand for growth and innovation in the fast-paced and ever-changing federal IT industry with a desire for employees to prioritize their well-being. Her career is grounded in a long-term commitment to service.
Gilliland has more than 25 years of public sector experience, including nearly two decades in leadership positions at General Dynamics, and under her leadership, GDIT increased veteran hiring by 200%. Before joining General Dynamics, Gilliland served in the U.S. Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer, Congressional Affairs Liaison Officer, and Public Affairs Officer.
She earned a bachelor’s degree with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy, a master’s degree from Cambridge University, and a master’s degree in business administration from Georgetown University.
